The BEACON Institute is a 501(c)(3) federally recognized nonprofit organization whose mission is contribute to:
- the enhancement of education for all
- the improvement of accessibility for individuals with disabilities
- and the enrichment of various community groups through funding opportunities that support initiatives for animal welfare, health & wellness, international aid, religious organizations, senior citizens, and veterans (to name a few).
Our logo features a lighthouse because we want to be a BEACON of hope to those who may be lost or seeking help during difficult times, the same way a lighthouse helps guide boats in the dark back to safety.

Title- Birmingham Father’s Day Craft & Vendor Market
Date and Time- June 13 from 10am-8pm and June 14, 2026 from 12pm-6pm
Location: Riverchase Galleria Mall; 2000 Galleria Cir. Hoover, AL 35244
Description: We will be at this vendor event selling items to raise money for issuing more grants to the public. We hope to see you there!

Title- Grant Winner Announcement
Date and Time- April 23, 2026
Description: Congratulations to our first ever grant winners! The Community English Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is a program that provides free English classes to anyone wanting to improve their English skills. The program doesn’t receive any funding, so it has had to rely on volunteers to teach and manage the program. Through our “Funding for Educational Programs” grant assistance, they were able to secure funding to pay their teachers for the Spring 2026 semester. Congratulations!
