This page will list all of our current volunteer opportunities.

• UAB Community English Program
  • The BEACON Institute is a sponsor of the The UAB Community English Program, which is an education program that provides free English classes to adults wanting to improve their English skills. The classes are held on the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus.
  • The positions they often need volunteers for are ESL Teachers and ESL Teacher Assistants. Experience is preferred, but not required. All volunteers go through an orientation and training workshop.

    • When you fill out the form, please include that you are interested in volunteering with the Community English Program. Also, let us know if you have experience teaching.
